The Neurology Section at Nationwide Children's Hospital provides subspecialty evaluations and care for children through age 21 who have neurological disorders affecting the central nervous system, spinal cord, nerves and muscles.
The clinical research programs of the division are involved in industry-sponsored studies of medications for the treatment of headaches, epilepsy and the treatment of diabetic neuropathy. In addition, members of the division serve as consultants or co-investigators on three major National Institutes of Health-funded clinical studies of absence epilepsy, the genetics of human epilepsy and the prevention of stroke in sickle cell patients.
As a leader in the treatment of pediatric neurological disorders, a pediatric stroke clinic is now being offered – one of only a few such clinics in the country.
