During the week of August 25-29, 2014, Nationwide Children's Hospital hosted its Third Annual Myology Course. Trainees from around the country visited Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University to attend the only dedicated myology training course of its kind offered in the United States.
For five days, trainees attended lectures on clinical science, basic science and genetic approaches to muscle diseases. Each afternoon, laboratory-track trainees attended basic science lab training sessions, and clinical trainees took part in workshops related to clinical muscle disease. At the end of each day, the groups joined for a keynote lecture. Expert faculty included members of The Ohio State University/Nationwide Children's Hospital Muscle Group.
Thanks to the generous support of the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, there was no cost for this course or for lodging.
